Heineken and James Bond (Skyfall)

  • It was made to look like a James Bond movie
  • Daniel Craig was in the advert, this is called celebrity endorsement
  • Advert was created in 2012 when the James Bond movie was released at the cinema.
  • Target audience males because the advert is for two masculine things which are James Bond and Heineken. Men tend to drink more beer the women.
  • Heineken also shows an Orient Express full of casinos, weapons, chandeliers and beautiful women.
  • Action and adventure conventions include jeopardy, villains and a hero.

  1. Good grasp of genre conventions (but fill in the details with specific examples) and of synergy (cross promotion). How does the hero come across? (= his behaviour, athletic skills, bravery, smoothness, ruthlessness and so on). In what way is drinking Heineken glamorized?
    For higher marks, go into more detail.
